Aqua North Carolina announced Friday it planned to construct an elevated 300,000 gallon water tank in Wake Forest.
The drinking water storage take would be placed in the Hasentree Subdivision of the town. Aqua NC also said it would upgrade existing wells and water lines costing the company a total of $1.8 million.
Aqua NC said the upgraded wells and lines would meet North Carolina regulatory requirements. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has given additional homes in Wake Forest water from Aqua’s system after private wells were found to be poisoned.
The upgrades and tank are planned to be completed by the end of 2014.
