Eight elementary school children in Knightdale are getting a special police escort through the aisles of Target.
This week, those lucky children are getting a chance to pick out holiday gifts at a Target store in Knightdale. It’s a part of Target’s “Heroes and Helpers” program, which pairs public safety officials with community youth for holiday shopping sprees at Target stores.
“We wanted to let the kids, the students, the staff at the faculty at the schools know we were there for their support,” Lt. Justin Guthrie with Knightdale Police said.
This is the first time Knightdale police have done so-called shopping with a cop.
