Deputies in Pinellas, Fla., have arrested a man and his girlfriend for breaking into his parents’ home and killing their dog.
Deputies responded to the victims’ home at Mary Lane in Tarpon Springs Monday night after the couple arrived home just after 8 p.m. to find their 4-year-old Lab “Daisy” dead and iPad stolen.
The investigation found the victims’ son, 34-year-old Daniel Adams, and his girlfriend, 28-year-old Lauren Curran, both of Dunedin, had committed the burglary.

Deputies say Adams and Curran drove to his parents’ home with their child, with the intention of killing the dog. Both admitted to deputies that Curran killed the dog with an intravenous needle filled with an unknown medication.
They committed the burglary and stole the iPad in an attempt to make his parents think someone else had committed the crime, detectives say.
Both were arrested on Wednesday and charged with Burglary, Cruelty To Animals and Child Abuse.
