Fayetteville Police warn about recent HVAC thefts

Fayetteville Police are investigating recent thefts of central heating and air units from homes throughout the city.

Police said a majority of the thefts have taken place at homes that are either vacant or posted for sale or rent.

Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for the recent thefts.

Police say the suspects may disguise themselves as HVAC personnel. The suspects may be operating trucks, vans and also possibly towing trailers to accommodate the units.

Anyone who recognizes suspicious activity in their neighborhood regarding the recent thefts should call 911.
