Camp Lejeune is hosting an Earth Day Expo that includes representatives of various groups who will teach Marines and their families about how they can eliminate waste and help preserve the earth.
The event will be held Thursday at Marston Pavilion. Participating groups include the state Department of Environmental Resources, the Aurora Fossil Museum and Marine Corps Community Services.
The base’s environmental management division will have interactive displays that highlight subjects such as timber management, water quality and threatened and endangered species.
Earth Day was marked Wednesday worldwide.
