NC Wildlife Resources Commission officers have captured a huge alligator that made its way onto Highway 17 near the Jones-Craven County line, WITN, Eastern North Carolina’s NBC affiliate, is reporting.
Jones County deputies were first called out around 7 p.m. and then called wildlife officials to relocate the gator.
Jones County Sheriff Danny Health said the gator looked like it was about 8 feet.
Wildlife officers say they aren’t releasing where they are taking the gator for its own protection.
