Durham 911 access returns to Verizon Wireless customers

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – Verizon Wireless customers were unable to reach 911 services Wednesday until around 5 p.m.

Officials said Verizon customers were receiving a busy signal when dialing 911 in Durham as of 1 p.m. Wednesday.

James Soukup, director of the Durham Emergency Communications Center, said no other wireless carriers were having issues, and all landline-placed 911 calls are working.
