HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has made a number of arrests in connection with a drug crackdown it began earlier this year.
Beginning in January, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office initiated an operation directed at the distribution of illegal drugs. Undercover officers and confidential sources purchased illegal substances from violators during this operation.
Illegal substances including “crack” cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, heroin and prescription drugs were purchased by individual during the operation.
Investigators said more than 60 people were involved in the distribution of illegal drugs throughout Orange County. Multiple firearms were also seized.
The sheriff’s office said a number of arrests have been made and more are expected.
Authorities seized more than 7,000 grams of cocaine, 110 pounds of marijuana and 693 dosage units of heroin as well as other drugs.
