Wake Forest bust nets 33 grams of heroin, thousands in cash

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) – Three people were arrested Wednesday by Wake Forest police in connection with dealing heroin.

A total of 33 grams of heroin and $2,956 in cash was found during the bust in the parking lot of Asian Garden at 13686 Capital Blvd.

Kwamane Raheem Carroll, 24, of Henderson, was charged with two counts of trafficking heroin by selling, two counts of trafficking heroin by delivery, two counts of trafficking by transportation, two counts of trafficking by possession, two counts of conspiring to traffic heroin and one count of misdemeanor child abuse, police said.

Carroll’s bond was set at $1,500,000.

Michael Lewis Powell, 26, of Warrenton, was charged with one count of trafficking heroin by selling, one count of trafficking heroin by delivery, one count of trafficking by transportation, one count of trafficking by possession and one count of conspiring to traffic heroin.

Powell’s bond was set at $500,000.

Marquis Darrelle Burt, 26, of Raleigh, was charged with one count of trafficking heroin by selling, one count of trafficking heroin by delivery, one count of trafficking by transportation, one count of trafficking by possession and one count of conspiring to traffic heroin.

Burt’s bond was set at $500,000.

All three men are being held at the Wake County Detention Center.

They all appeared in court Thursday morning, Wake Forest police said.
