RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Raleigh police arrested two people in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of a 20-year-old Friday night on Glenwood Avenue.
It happened just west of Brier Creek Parkway near Skyland Ridge Parkway just before 10 p.m. Police say Nathan Scott Bizzell, of Camp Lejeune, was traveling west on Glenwood Avenue in a 2012 Ford sedan when he hit another vehicle just past Brier Creek.
Investigators say when he got out to survey the damage and check on the other driver, he was hit by another vehicle—a 2006 Honda sedan.
Bizzell was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the driver of the Honda sedan ran away and was located several hours later at a Raleigh home.
Raleigh police arrested Nicholas Passalinqua Jr., 32, and charged him with DWI and felony hit and run involving a death.
Also, Kathleen Ann Capece, 32, was charged with aid and abet felony hit and run involving a death, police said.
Both are being held at the Wake County Detention Center.
Several other vehicles were also involved in secondary collisions.
Westbound Glenwood Avenue was shut down for nearly three hours.
