Man killed, wife charged in Fayetteville shooting

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Fayetteville Police say that Sunday morning shooting at a home on Bear Creek Circle happened during a fight between a married couple.

When police responded to the home on the 5600 block just after 1 a.m., they found Vlowski Hampton shot inside the home.

Hampton, age 28, was “involved in a domestic disturbance with his wife, Eva Lynn Hampton,” Fayetteville Police said.

“The couple was involved in a verbal altercation that became physical which ended with Eva Hampton shooting Vlowski Hampton,” police said in a press release.

Eva Hampton, age 35, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter and has been processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center where she remains without bond.

Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the homicide and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
