MIAMI (NBC NEWS) – A Judge and a suspect had an unusual reunion in a Miami courtroom Thursday.
Arthur Booth, 49, was appearing before Judge Mindy Glazer after an arrest for burglary and police pursuit.
As the proceedings began, Glazer had a question for Booth. She asked if he had gone to Nautilus Middle School.
A shocked Booth covered his head and began to cry. All he could say over and over again was “Oh my goodness.”
“I’m sorry to see you there, I always wondered what happened to you sir,” Glazer said. “This was the nicest kid in middle school,” She added. “I used to play football with him, all the kids, and look what has happened. I am so sorry to see you there.”
After telling the court what a nice young man Booth was, Glazer offered him words of encouragement.
“Mr. Booth, I hope you are able to change your ways; good luck to you, “Glazer said. “Good luck to you sir, I hope you are able to come out of this okay and just lead a lawful life.”
Booth was facing charges of burglary, grand theft, fleeing and resisting arrest.
