5 displaced after Carrboro house fire

Carrboro, N.C. (WNCN) – The Carrboro Fire Rescue Department responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Cates Farm Road around 11:32 p.m. Sunday, officials said Monday.

Firefighters found smoke and heavy fire coming from the roof of the house when they arrived. Heavy fire was reported in the attic and three rooms on the second floor, fire officials said.

The Fire Departments brought the fire under control in about 45 minutes.

Officials said the house sustained smoke and water damage. No injuries were reported.

Five residents were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
