Part of Fayetteville St. in Raleigh to close Tuesday for sewer repairs

At 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, the City of Raleigh will close the 100 block of Fayetteville Street at Capital City Tavern for an emergency sewer repair.

The work is expected to be complete by 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The closure will only impact the southbound lane; however motorists approaching the work area should expect traffic delays and are advised to avoid this area if possible.

To detour the area, motorists traveling southbound should turn right on South Wilmington Street, right on East Hargett Street, and left back on to Fayetteville Street.

Customers in this area should not experience any interruption of service.
