RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – William Peace University announced Dr. Brian C. Ralph as its new president Wednesday afternoon.
Ralph was recently selected by the University Board of Trustees.
Ralph will begin his tenure as William Peace’s 11th president on Aug. 17. He is replacing Dr. Debra M. Townsley, who retired in June.
“I am thrilled to officially be a part of the Peace family, and I look forward to helping this great institution continue to grow and prosper,” Ralph said in a statement. “We are in a great place with great students, faculty, staff, and Alumni, and I am excited to get started.”
As president of WPU, Ralph will oversee a student body of more than 1,000 full and part-time students.
Ralph has held a number of professional positions over the years, including a membership with North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities since 2003 where he served on the Campus Safety and Security Committee from 2007-09.
