RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Johnston County high school teacher was arrested Friday afternoon and is facing five different drug-related charges.
Brittany Coley, 22, of Knightdale, was arrested along with three others at approximately 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Johnston County Schools officials confirmed that Coley is a social studies teacher at West Johnston High School in Benson. She began working at the school in August 2014.
She has been suspended with pay, Johnston County Schools confirmed.
Coley is charged with manufacturing marijuana, trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substances.
Coley is currently being held at the Wake County jail under a $250,000 secured bond. She’s scheduled to appear in court July 13.
