SANFORD, N.C. (WNCN) – A 26-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting of two people in Sanford Thursday.
Rudy Aroldo Pablo Lopez was arrested Friday morning and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and one count of first-degree burglary.
He is being held at the Lee County Jail under $1 million bond.
Police said Lopez broke into a residence on Scott Avenue early Thursday and shot Angelica Cortes Barrios, 31, and Angel Galicia Sanchez, 30.
Sanchez and Barrios were taken to Duke Medical Center where police said they remain in serious condition.
Sanford police said the incident was domestic in nature.
