RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Raleigh Police are investigating a motel fire Wednesday night after three people were sent to WakeMed for smoke inhalation.

Officers responded to a “domestic incident” just before 9:20 p.m. at The Wake Inn at 3120 New Bern Avenue, police said.

When officers arrived to the motel, there was a fire.

The fire, which appeared to be intentional, was in one part of the room of the two-story motel and was extinguished, Raleigh Police said.

Two officers and a man were taken to WakeMed for minor smoke inhalation, officials said. All three were treated and released.
