DESTIN, Fla. (WNCN) – Two brothers from Texas visiting Florida helped an injured hammerhead shark Monday.
Marcus and Logan Lakos spotted the shark near the shore in Destin. They also noticed two hooks hanging from the shark’s mouth.
Logan pulled the shark onto the beach to help it.
“I started pulling it in and it was kind of scary, but hammerhead sharks aren’t really that dangerous to humans. So knowing that, I pulled it in. Everyone else was freaking out so it was hard to bring him in, but once people started realizing, you know, we were trying to help it, some of the other guys around, we were all crowding around it and trying to help it,” said Logan Lakos.
Logan, as well as other beach goers, removed the hooks from the shark’s mouth.
