RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Raleigh police charged three men in connection with the shooting death of James Elvin Alston on Quarry Street July 2.
Ashton Traevon Champion, 21, Christopher Rodney Jones, Jr, 21, and Isaiah Freeman McFarland, 26, face charges in connection with the death of Alston.
Champion was already being held in the the Wake County Detention Center on an unrelated charge while Jones was taken into custody without incident.
McFarland faces charges as an accessory, police said.
Police said the incident happened around 4:15 a.m. on July 2 at 707 Quarry St.
The incident is still under investigation.
