Raleigh PD adding 25 officers to force

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The Raleigh Police Department is getting bigger.

Twenty-five new officers are being welcomed to the ranks at a graduation ceremony on Friday, according to a a news release from the city.

They join the nearly 800 officers already on the force.

The graduation completes the 113th Police Academy in the capital city. It’s being held at 1 p.m. at the Raleigh Convention Center.

The Raleigh Police Department is already recruiting for the next police academy, which will be in the winter of 2016.

Applications for that class are due by the end of August. You can find more information here.
