RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – State Capitol Police arrested a masked man armed with a handgun and spray paint on the grounds of the State Capitol early Saturday morning, the N.C. Department of Public Safety said.
A man identified as Perren Tremayne Moss, 32, of Raleigh, was scene on the grounds of the State Capitol just before 5 a.m. wearing a full face mask, gloves, heavy clothing and a backpack full of spray paint. He was also in possession of a .38 caliber handgun.
Moss was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon on the State Capitol grounds, and wearing a mask on public property.
Moss is currently being held at the Wake County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.
No property was damaged. The investigation is ongoing.
