WILSON, N.C. (WNCN) – Wilson police said officers are searching a convicted felon’s home in connection with a missing young woman.
Isabel Calvo Palacios, age 20, was reported missing to police Tuesday after she was last seen at a home at 4710 Ward Blvd. in Wilson on Friday afternoon, police said.
Wilson Police Department Detectives obtained a search warrant for 4710 Ward Blvd. and forensic personnel began searching the residence shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, police said officers “are still actively searching the home and will remain there for an extended period of time.”
Police say there are not any suspects in this case but 56-year-old Gregory Parks lives here at the home. Parks is a convicted felon who has a long criminal record.
Cpt. Eric Smith with Wilson police said investigators are following leads based on credit card and social media activity.
“We’re working this round the clock,” he said. “Continue praying and ask anyone with information to come forward. Even if it’s a small thing, come forward. It could be important.”
Court documents show Parks was released from prison 27-years early after the North Carolina Court of Appeals overturned his conviction here in Wilson County.
In 2014 a jury convicted him on two counts of participating in prostitution of a minor but the appeals court later overturned that ruling saying there was not enough evidence to convict him — and he’s been out since July 2014.
Parks has also been arrested on manslaughter and attempted first and second degree rape charges.
Palacios is described as standing 5 feet 2 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Palacios is encouraged to call the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323 or Wilson Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255.
