Fire damages condos in Cary

CARY, N.C. (WNCN) — Fire crews spent 30 minutes getting a condo fire under control on Wednesday evening in Cary.

The fire happened at 3621 Wellington Ridge Loop in the Wellington Ridge Condos, which is near Tryon Road and SE Cary Parkway, authorities say.

The fire was first called out to crews at 7:21 p.m. as a balcony fire, officials said. The fire crews were on the scene at 7:28 p.m. and the blaze was under control by 8 p.m., officials said.

The fire burned the attic of several units and second story units. Fire officials were unsure exactly how many units were damaged or destroyed.

No one was hurt, officials said.
