4 displaced, 1 injured in Fayetteville mobile home fire

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Four people were displaced and one person was injured in an early morning mobile home fire in Fayetteville, authorities said.

Fayetteville emergency crews responded to 1123 Merry Maple Lane in the Lafayette Plantation Mobile Home Park just before 2 a.m. Upon arrival, crews reported heavy smoke and fire visible from a single-wide mobile home.

Firefighters were able to control the fire quickly, but the home was heavily damaged. Two adults and two children were displaced.

A 21-year-old man was injured while escaping through a rear window. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of lacerations to his lower legs.

The cause of the fire was determined to be unattended cooking.
