Missing Fayetteville dad’s car found in NC mountains

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – The vehicle belonging to a Fayetteville dad missing since July 19 was recovered in Madison County, authorities said.

Michael Kirkpatrick’s black Scion was located by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office but deputies did not find Kirkpatrick.


Kirkpatrick was last seen leaving his home in the 4200 block of Chiselhurst Street in Fayetteville on July 19.

The 29-year-old military veteran is a husband and father of two children.

Kirkpatrick was driving a 2006 black Toyota Scion with a North Carolina license plate DFK-4223.

Friends said Kirkpatrick was very distraught the day before he went missing.

Kirkpatrick’s wife said he was previously on medication for PTSD.

Kirkpatrick, who is a technician for Peterson Toyota in Lumberton, also left his cell phone at home.
