STATESVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) – Shawn Fuller, the Iredell Co. man accused of fatally shooting his sons, ages 3 and 4, before turning the gun on himself, has died.
According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, Fuller died Wednesday night at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte from complications from his injuries.
The shooting happened on August 9 around 3:30 a.m. on Trent Road. Fuller was reportedly intoxicated.
Investigators say the wife and Fuller’s brother called 911 to report a disturbance. That’s when she left the home, not thinking Fuller would harm the boys. Police say Fuller called someone and informed him he killed his sons and would kill law enforcement.
Deputies say they arrived at the home at 3:43 a.m. to find Shawn Fuller outside of the front door suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Fuller was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in critical condition.
The boys, Josiah and Uriah, were found shot multiple times inside the home, according to deputies.
