ATLANTA (NBC NEWS) — Planes were grounded at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International airport earlier this on Tuesday as a strong thunderstorm swept through runway area.
Jets were lined up on the tarmac and passengers inside the airport were recording the weather.
As conditions worsened.. a bolt of lightning hit a delta airlines plane… traveling through the metal fuselage.. And exiting through the plane’s tire to the ground.
No one was injured. It’s not known if the Delta plane required service before attempting to fly after the lightning strike.
