Memorial for Golden Knights parachutist killed in Chicago to be held Aug. 26

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WNCN) – A memorial service for Master Sgt. Corey Hood, a member of the U.S. Army “Golden Knights” Parachute Team will be held Aug. 26 at Pope Army Airfield.

The memorial will be held on Aug. 26 at 10 a.m. at the Golden Knights’ aviation hangar at Pope Airfield.

Master Sgt. Hood, a member of the Golden Knights’ Black Demonstration Team, was injured Aug. 15 during a performance at the Chicago Air and Water Show.

A native of the Cincinnati, Ohio area, Master Sgt. Hood died from his injuries on Aug. 16 in Chicago. He will be buried in West Chester, Ohio on Aug. 22.

The incident is still under investigation, authorities said.
