“Pare por el bus!” #Brake4Buses safety message spreads in Spanish-speaking community

Local newspaper La Conexion is reaching out to Spanish-speaking readers with the Brake4Buses message.

Raleigh, N.C. (WNCN) –  A leading Hispanic newspaper, La Conexion, is helping WNCN get the word out about the Brake4Buses effort.

“Pare por el bus” is the translation of the safety message. The newspaper’s director, Gonzalo Aguirre, is bringing the mission to the growing Spanish-speaking population.

Aguirre says he feels an obligation to help inform people.

“It is very important for us. We are joining this effort with WNCN, not just because of this topic, we want to work together between the two communities,” he said.

The newspaper plans to keep the campaign year-round.

La Conexion is available every Wednesday on newsstands across central and eastern North Carolina. The publication reaches 400,000 readers.
