GARNER, NC (WNCN) — Rock fans of all sizes turned out in Garner Sunday evening for the United We Rock Tribute Festival. The festival benefits First in Families, an organization that helps special needs children and their families.

There were some great tribute bands like Thunderstruck, Mostley Crue and Ozzmosis. If you are a rock fan you’ll understand those names.

The Chapter Director of First in Families, Rachel Pack, says they picked a rock music fundraiser because everybody likes live music, and one of their biggest groups of supporters is actually the biker community. There were dozens of motorcyclists there enjoying the bands and making donations.

The money they give goes to families in Wake County that need help taking care of children with developmental disabilities or traumatic brain injuries. And the help that First in Families provides comes in many different forms.

“Any needs that they may have that are not otherwise being met by formal or informal supports. Things that insurance might not cover. Basic things like food or gas cards for families to take their children to appointments,” said Pack.

Organizers were hoping to raise around $4,000. If you want to learn more about First in Families, go to
