RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A serious crash on Louisburg Road caused delays in the area early Monday afternoon.
Three vehicles were involved in the wreck that occurred just before the intersection at Fox Road, north of Interstate 540 around 12:45 p.m.
The driver of a light blue Lexus SUV that was involved in the wreck told WNCN that a dark blue sedan was weaving in and out of traffic in the northbound lanes of Louisburg Road when it tried to pass a Capital Area Transit bus and clipped the bus.
The driver, who was shaken up and asked that her name not be used, said the CAT bus hit her car and sent her into the median. According to the driver, the dark blue sedan then crossed the median into the southbound lanes and hit a white Jeep Cherokee that was traveling southbound.
Witnesses at the scene said the driver of the dark blue sedan got out and ran from the scene.
The CAT bus was able to drive away, but another bus was sent to pick up the passengers who were waiting at a stop at the corner of Louisburg and Fox Road.
Four people were transported to the hospital, Raleigh police said.
As of 2 p.m. the center lane of Louisburg Road was still closed, but traffic was moving on both sides.
Raleigh police are investigating the crash.
