DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A kitchen in a freshman residence hall at Duke University is closed after students reported urine leaking from the ceiling into the kitchen, the Duke Chronicle reported Tuesday.

Students in Brown residence hall on East campus reported the issue and the kitchen is now closed to residents until repairs can be made, the paper reported.

Freshman Brown resident Lanre Oshin told the Chronicle “We were…in the kitchen, and pee started flying from the ceiling.”

The leak occurred despite the residence hall undergoing major renovations this summer. According to the Chronicle, the renovations were meant to improve the bathrooms, common room and kitchen and create a new study room.
