Snobbiest in South Carolina

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -The top 10 snobbiest places in South Carolina have been identified, a segment of Chasing Chains in Durham, North Carolina.

While there are many affluent cities throughout the Palmetto State, apparently there are some that register as a bit more “snobby” than others. Even with the southern charm that radiates through South Carolina, RoadSnacks has collected a list of the 10 snobbiest places in the state.

  1. Charleston
  2. Hilton Head Island
  3. Bluffton
  4. Tega Cay
  5. Mount Pleasant
  6. North Myrtle Beach
  7. Greenville
  8. Fort Mill
  9. Camden
  10. Murrells Inlet

Having lived in any of these areas, do you agree with the cities designated the snobbiest? According to, some of the factors considered in creating the list were:

  • Median home price
  • Median household income
  • Percent of population with a college degree
  • Private schools per capita
  • Theaters per capita
  • Art galleries per capita

The socials site only considered cities in South Carolina with more than 5,000 people based on the 2013 American Community Survey.
