LENIOR, NC (CNN) — Four men are being credited with rescuing a woman who was trapped beneath a SUV after a rollover crash in Lenoir early Tuesday morning.
Officials said the crash happened on Abington Road around 8:30 a.m. when the male driver lost control of the SUV and it flipped.
The Highway Patrol said the passenger — a young woman — was thrown from the vehicle during the crash and was then pinned beneath the SUV.
Four men, who work for a nearby plumbing company, rushed to help after witnessing the crash and hearing the woman’s cries for help.
“Anybody would have done the same thing we did I figure. I mean it’s just one of them things that the spur of the moment you do what you have to do,” Mike Benge told WSOC-TV.
Troopers said the woman was rushed to the hospital with serious leg injuries.
