JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A North Carolina woman was charged after authorities say that she bit a man’s genitals, causing “permanent damage.”

Martinne Patricia Delavega, 51, of Jacksonville, was charged with malicious castration, according to WCTI-TV.

Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller told the TV station that Delavega was arrested on Thursday.

The Jacksonville Daily News reports that permanent damage was caused to the victim when his testicles were torn open during the incident.

In a mugshot from WCTI in New Bern, Delavega appeared to have suffered some wounds and had her head wrapped in a bandage.

Delavega was released on Friday on $10,000 bond, the newspaper reported.

Delavega is scheduled to appear in court in October.
