2 teens and woman charged after Henderson man found dead near road

HENDERSON, NC (WNCN) — Two teen girls and a woman are charged after Henderson Police say that a man was found lying dead next to a road earlier this month.

Willard Harris Crosson, age 44, of Henderson, was found dead in the 100 block of Pinkston Street on Sept. 5, Henderson Police say.

Crosson was killed in a hit-and-run crash with a vehicle, police now say.

On Wednesday, police charged Rikki Jovanna Moten, age 18, of the 1000 block of Harriett Street, Henderson with one count of felonious hit and run failing to notify authorities, police said.

Also, Shanice Meadows,  age 19, of the 1000 block of Buchanan Road, Henderson was charged with one count of a passenger failing to give information or aid.

Another woman, Barbara Ann Moten, 62, also of the 1000 block of Harriett Street, Henderson was charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact to a felony.

Rikki Jovanna Moten is being held in the Vance County Jail on a $15,000 secured bond.  Meadows was released from custody after posting a $5,000 bond.
