RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Wakefield High School in Raleigh hosted the #WNCNBlitz pep rally Friday morning before their game against Sanderson High School.
The Wolverines have a home game Friday night with Raleigh rival Sanderson.
Wakefield is 3-1 and Sanderson is 1-3.
The event is always a hit with students, who get a chance to show their school spirit – and ability to get out of bed early – on TV. The football team and band and cheerleaders are up early as well for a chance to showcase their school.
Students and fans are encouraged to follow the action on the #WNCNBlitz Twitter hashtag and to tweet their photos of the action.
WNCN Today is on the air from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. and highlights local schools and their achievements every Friday morning during football season.
