Man shot in Durham on Jan. 4 dies

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A Durham man who was shot in early January recently died as a result of his wounds and the case is now being investigated as a homicide, Durham Police said Thursday.

Dwight Grayer was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of North Duke Street and Horton Road shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4 when a gray vehicle pulled up next to his vehicle and the occupants fired several shots. Grayer, 20, of Fayetteville suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No charges have been filed at this time.
