RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — Raleigh Police surrounded a home on South Blount Street on Sunday and later made an arrest of a suspect in two drug store robberies since Friday.
Reginald Donnell Sims, age 43, was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon after police took him into custody around 6:30 p.m.
One count concerns a Friday night crime committed at the CVS store at 4309 New Bern Ave., and the other count relates to an incident that occurred Sunday afternoon at the Rite Aid store at 1601 Cross Link Road, police said.
During the late afternoon and early evening Sunday, Raleigh Police Department officers were in the 900 block of South Blount Street and surrounding areas trying to track down Sims, police said.
Sims was in a house and refused to come out, according to police.
The situation was resolved without further incident when Sims was taken into custody at about 6:30 p.m.
No one was hurt in either drug store robbery, police said.
