3 bomb threats made against Apex arts center, police say

APEX, N.C. (WNCN) – Apex police confirmed officers responded to a bomb threat Tuesday at the Halle Arts Center in downtown.

The Halle Cultural Arts Center is located at 237 N. Salem Street. Downtown streets were closed for about 2 hours as police investigated.

Apex Police Captain Ann Stephens told WNCN that at about 5:15 p.m. someone called the arts center and said there was a bomb in the building.

Just 2 minutes later, a second call came in warning that everyone needed to exit the building, Capt. Stephens said.

The arts center and nearby buildings were evacuated at that point.

After the building was cleared and searched another call came in about a bomb in the building, but officials had just searched the building.

No bomb was ever found, officials say.
