No explosives found after Wake Co. middle school bomb threat

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Students at West Millbrook Middle School in Raleigh were evacuated Tuesday afternoon due to a false bomb threat, Raleigh police said.

Raleigh police said officers were sent to the school at 1:30 p.m.

Law enforcement searched the gym and cafeteria first, allowing students to be moved to those locations.

The search of the school was finished at around 3:15 p.m. Raleigh police said no explosive devices were located.

“All bomb threats are taken seriously. We investigates each bomb threat fully and pursues hoax reports with criminal prosecution,” Wake schools said.

Students from the school could be delayed arriving home due to the investigation.
