Driver education returning to Wake Co. schools

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The Wake County Public School System’s “Behind the Wheel” training will return Monday after funding for the program was promised by state lawmakers in the budget.

Driving lessons will return Monday with classes returning in to Wake County high schools in November, the school system said.

Students who took the classroom portion over the summer will take “Behind the Wheel” training before students who have not yet completed the classroom portion, Wake Schools said in a release Tuesday.

Driver education instructors will contact students who have already taken the classroom portion.
