A Fayetteville teen who was a ‘person of interest’ in a shooting near a Burger King over the weekend is now charged with attempted murder — but police still haven’t found him.
On Saturday at approximately 10:07 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Eastern Boulevard in reference to a report of shots fired.
The initial investigation revealed that Antonio Lavon Campbell Jr., age 22, of the 4200 block of Dowfield Drive was found lying on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds, Fayetteville Police said.
Campbell was near the Burger King located at 344 Eastern Boulevard.
Campbell was transported by ambulance to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where as of Tuesday night he is still listed in critical condition.
Initially, police were interested in contacting Lamarious Ja Ron Brown, age 18, of the 1100 block of Southern Avenue as a “person of interest” in the case.
But, as of Tuesday evening, police say that Brown is charged in the case and they are looking for him.
