Man dies after shooting near Raleigh business

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A man who was seriously injured after being shot in Raleigh Tuesday night has died, police confirmed Wednesday morning.

Police said the shooting happened around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday outside of a business between the 1300 and 1600 blocks of New Bern Avenue near the intersection of Heath Street.

One person was shot and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The victim, identified as 30-year-old Joshua George Ayalogu, died Wednesday morning.

Officers canvassed the area for possible evidence, including any witnesses. Officers knocked on the door of a business for information about the shooting.

Police do not believe the shooting was random and no arrests have been made in the case.
