Woman dies after Fayetteville crash

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A woman who was seriously injured in a crash early Tuesday morning has died, Fayetteville Police said.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a traffic crash at Country Club Drive and Harvey Dale Drive.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a single vehicle ran off the road and into a wood line. The female driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Police identified the driver as Alexandria Cameron, 29, of Dunn. Police said Cameron was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center by ambulance with life-threatening injuries where she later died.

All lanes on Country Club Drive between Gables Drive and Rosehill Road were closed as crews worked to clear the area.

The Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the crash and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
