MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) — Do you want to experience all the beauty offered in the waters off our coast, but are a little over getting wet? If you’re heading to the North Carolina Seafood Festival in Morehead City Saturday, you may want to check out the virtual scuba diving at Olympus Dive Center.

WNCT’s Katie Harden took the virtual reality ride for a spin and said it’s the perfect way to get out of the rain this weekend. The dive center said they shot the video on GoPro cameras and then edited the video together to create a 360 degree view of what they see when they go on a dive. This gives users a sneak peak into the underwater experience.

“It’s like the perfect dive preview,” said Nicholas Fuller with Olympus Dive Center. “If you’ve always been curious about what it’s like to dive, it’s almost like putting on a SCUBA mask right there but you’re sitting in a chair instead.”

The virtual dive only costs $3 and will be up and running all weekend at the Seafood Festival.
