FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A Fayetteville woman is facing an attempted first-degree murder charge after she was caught trying to kill her 5-month-old son, police said.
Leshay Alli Jordan, 20, is facing one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of misdemeanor child abuse after allegedly trying to smother her son.
The incident occurred Monday just before 2:45 p.m. at the Suburban Lodge located at 3719 Bragg Blvd.
Josh David Skinner, 18, walked in on Jordan while she was in the act of smothering their son with a pillow and quickly stopped her and called police, authorities said.
Jordan is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
