2 suspects wanted in multiple Durham robberies

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – Durham police are asking for help in identifying two men who are wanted in connection with several robberies starting Oct. 7.

On Oct. 7, police said the two suspects robbed the Tobacco Plus Mini Mart at 2017 Chapel Hill Road at gunpoint.

Shots were fired by a suspect as they left the business but no one was hurt.

Durham police also believe the same suspects robbed a woman who was taking out her trash in the 1500 block of South Roxboro Street around 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7. The suspects robbed the woman of her phone, cigarettes and other items at gunpoint.

About an hour later, police said a woman was exiting her car in a parking lot in the 3700 block of Southwest Durham Drive when a small white car pulled up behind her. Two suspects robbed the woman of her purse and forced her to get on the ground.

Shortly after the Durham Drive robbery, a woman was in a parked car in the parking lot of Hardees at 2721 Chapel Hill Road when a man with a gun tapped on her window.

The woman sounded her car horn several times and successfully scared the man away.

Durham police spotted the suspect’s vehicle later and attempted to pull it over. The suspects in the vehicles jumped near Old Chapel Hill Road and Scottish Lane and ran.

Police found weapons in the vehicle. That vehicle was reported stolen in Garner Oct. 8.
