Man shot in Selma Monday dies, suspect now wanted on murder charge

Robert Jackson is wanted on a first-degree murder charge.

SELMA, N.C. (WNCN) – The man seriously injured in a shooting in Selma Monday morning has died as a result of the injuries he suffered, Selma Police said.

The victim, 29-year-old Marquel Cardell Williams, was shot shortly before 10 a.m. at a public housing complex.

Robert Lewis Jackson, 27, was wanted on a first-degree murder attempted charge but that charge has now been upgraded to murder.

Jackson is not currently in custody.
